The Happy Family
The Happy Family
By Ty Zhang

the happy family / so many brothers and sisters / now bowing out / one by one / i wonder
/ how many serfdoms averted / by enterprising women / how many clinched / by insufficient men

a known number / of oceans crossed / but sickness is the final one / and of commensurate
depth / apparently

my shadow who precedes me / my gambler’s blood / runs fickle / a grenadine blur / its
tithe exacting / however indistinct
