Speak to Me from the Edge of Life
Speak to Me from the Edge of Life
By Domîno M. Cadieux

speak to me from the edge of life what does the view give are you heavy looking out at it into it how does it find you speak to me from the edge of life i am curious and heart sunken you have unraveled just enough to be beyond begging for your life while we sit at your bedside begging for you what weightlessness is waiting forced out of life’s cruel burdens what is the color of fading does your life make a sound as it shivers in and out of breath speak to me from the edge of life what flowers are blooming what songs are rolling through you what sunny days are holding you can you feel the sharp beat of rain against the window your mother humming you to sleep your father’s arms around you when you were first born when he still loved you speak to me from the edge of life i am sorrow-full and so afraid watching your eyes turn still and gauzy as fog as your hand lets go of mine and     you leave     without me
