Janice Lynch Schuster is an essayist, poet, and artist whose work has appeared in the Washington Post, the New York Times, and The Sun magazine, as well as journals such as Health Affairs and the Journal of Hospital Medicine. She works as a proposal writer for a disaster management firm. She is a member of the Muddy Creek Artists Guild and the American Society of Journalists and Authors and is the mother of six adult children, one of whom died in 2017.She lives and works in Annapolis, Maryland
