Vernell Williamson received her PhD in biology from Virginia Commonwealth University and her MA in anthropology from Wake Forest University. She is a trained bioinformatician and teaches classes in bioinformatics at Virginia Commonwealth University and biology at John Tyler Community College. Her research has been published in over twenty peer-reviewed journals. Two of her latest paintings appeared in the Fall 2021 issue of AJI Magazine.
