Being born with an artistic temperament, Jamie Azevedo spent thirty-three years of her life using acting as a form of creative expression. It wasn't until she met her husband, and borrowed his old film Minolta, that she abandoned the stage for the hypnotic click of the camera. She discovered that image-making was a wonderful way to start a conversation. She finds there is nothing more joyful than a mind-bending conversation that inspires one to see the world in a more enlightened way. For more than a decade, she has been a fine art photographer who is mostly self-taught. She has been honored to receive artist grants from the Bush Foundation and The North Dakota Council on the Arts, which afforded her the opportunity to grow as an artist through residencies and workshops. Her work has been published and shown in galleries in the United States and Europe.
